How to stop worrying by exercising!

Friday, April 17th, 2009

Who says exercise burns only calories, sugars and fats!

Exercise ‘burns’ worrying too!

Filling up your life with activities is a surefire way to minimise worrying. You prevent yourself from giving you any chance to worry.

Playing competitive sports with friends will get you into a quick thinking, fast reacting sportsman who really do not bother about what others talk about you when you are trying to get past that defender to the goal.

Practicing your techniques in sports will keep you fully focus on you improving (if you have the desire, of course) your form and forgetting about what will happen in a imaginary negative conclusion ou created.

Lifting weights and swimming will perhaps keep you gasping for air (do it intense!) and watching your lifting form or swimming strokes, keeping worry the furthest thing away from your thoughts.

Does it end there? NO! After exercising, fatigue starts to kick in. Hunger becomes more obvious. You spend time eating, you spend time sleeping, and if you were with friends, you spend time socialising.

Leave little to NO time to worry in your days!

Focus on the present.

Sunday, April 12th, 2009

Do you find yourself always thinking about what is next all the time?
Do you tend to wallow in the past filled with regrets?
Do you live in constant fear of what is going to happen to your life next?
Do you always picture out all the negative outcomes that can occur to you in the near future?

If you answer yes to the questions above…

STOP doing those NOW!

There is no point in doing any of those. As I always say, whatever thoughts you have are all created by no one but YOU.

Not your boss.
Not your partner.
Not your family.
Not even your dog nor the stranger sitting beside you on the public train.

But YOU.

So focus on the ‘now’, and stop thinking about the past. Nothing can change it. Even Superman can’t. Even God couldn’t. So why bother?

Let go of thoughts of the future. It will come soon, and you can experience it then. You do not have to do so now. The now, is your time, the only one that you can use, feel, taste, and actually CHANGE.

Stop worrying now!
Jeff

Its all in your mind.

Monday, April 6th, 2009

“Your life is what you think of it.”

This quote cannot be further from the truth. Whatever your situation now, wherever you are, how old you are or whatever your status in life or in society is, the fact still remain: you are only as happy and contented with what you think.

So many times we have heard of celebrities and famous or rich people getting into depression. The average human can only wonder: if I have so much power and money, won’t life’s problems be easily solved?

Well, sadly that is not the case….

Worry is not caused by externalities in our life. It is only created, imagined, and toyed around all in our mind.

Think about the last time you felt anxiety and worried. Did it neccessarily involve the lack of money? Perhaps while you were walking down the street and some people stared at you: you felt worried it may be something wrong with your look. Or what about the financial crisis all over the papers, and talks of retrenchment arising? Did it cause you to worry?

Talks of retrenchment did not cause worry for you. Neither did the person staring at you while you were walking down the street. YOU caused your worrying thoughts.
I’ll go more in-depth on the thoughts we have in another post…meanwhile,
Think happy thoughts and you’ll be happy.

Try it!
Jeff

Stop Worrying Now!

Sunday, April 5th, 2009

Hello there!

My name is Jeff Lam, and I welcome you to this site.

Most likely you found this site by searching for techniques and methods to stop worrying. That’s good, at least you are taking steps to find out how you can help it. At least you are mature enough to understand that worrying solves nothing. A step taken is better than none. Now let me carry you on the rest of the journey :)

On this site I’ll provide information and methods to help you:

  • Understand why you worry
  • How worrying can cause youharm
  • How worrying is caused by youself, and not others
  • How you use some methods to stop worrying fast
  • How to prevent you from worrying in the future

I’ll try to provide as much information in video forms, pictures, articles and what not. I’ll even touch into NLP (Neuro-Linguistic-Programming).
And so who am I? Why should you even bother to listen to me? I’m not anyone, just your average human. I cannot even claim that I’m an expert in stopping myself from worrying at times..but I’m here to learn and to help you. And maybe, life would be better for you and me. :D

Till then,
Jeff
